Senryu #20 Grasping with hope

Setting annual goals is fine as long as one does not become so driven for achievement that daily life become obsessive towards them.

“Goals for the future
Grasping with hope and desire
Forgetting the “now””

  4. I tried to leave a comment earlier, but it looks like it doesn’t go through. Profound poem, Dr. B! It is only in the present moment that we truly exist. Unfortunately, many of us forget to enjoy life now because we are so focused on the future. Great poem!

  5. This is a fabulous senryū. I like how your words describe the human struggle of embracing the “now.” It’s so easy to get up in our own emotions. 🙏🏻 🧡
