A very special Buddhist day today using the Gregorian calendar …… it’s Bodhi Day, the momentous day 2500 years ago when Buddha gained enlightenment. Especially celebrated today in Japan, whereas other countries in the east will use the lunar calendar resulting in a variable date annually.
However, just to confuse things, in Nepal …. my wife’s birthplace, this is celebrated in April, the same day as Buddha’s birthday! Anyway, let’s celebrate them both.
