Haiku #11 Decomposition

Autumn is a time of fungus growth and I have always enjoyed walking the woods nearby and poking around amongst leaf mould and decayed and rotting tree branches. A couple of days ago however I found this cluster of fungus in my own garden which inspired todays haiku.

From beneath the earth
Burst brown alien clusters
Turn black and return

  1. Lovely photograph, and a very metaphysical haiku about the cycle of life. Well done.
