It was another long bus ride, miles and miles of flat land rushing past us as we sped on our way towards Monument Valley. We weren’t really sure what to expect, a deep valley or gorge with steep sides? Surely not, all those cowboys seemed to be posing on quite flat land with reddish brown rock formations rising up out of a desert! And so it turned out on another day in our three weeks rail journey across America.

As you can see from the photos the sky was constantly changing in a relatively short time which makes the photos look like they were taken on different days, but they were all within an hour or two of each other. Oh and by the way, there was a lunch stop which included the obligatory gift shop! I suppose I could do a series on “A three week tour of American gift shops” 😂😂

Amazing skies and those rock formation really are monumental. I’ve never been there but have fond memories of the valley from cowboy films in the past.

Yes, I guess most of our generation will always associate the place with cowboy movies. By the way, have you been posting lately …. I’ve had no alerts on any. Also, I click on your blog name and only get taken to your “about” page. If I click on your name when you comment I get taken to a Google page! Maybe it’s something I’ve done?
