I’m well known for my veg, becoming known for my flowers ……. but only at a basic level. But, I wrote a while back about what inspires some of my blogging ….. books, travel, wine and other folks blogs. One of my blogging mates, Andrew, of Have Blog Will Travel, recently had some cracking images from his garden which included some quite exotic looking plants and flowers. He took little or no credit and said it was his wife Kim who was the creative one! Since that time I’ve been mooching around garden centres looking for new perennial plants for the garden. Too late for tubers or bulbs so here’s a selection of my Kim inspired beginning:

Calla Lily

Oriental Lily

Penstemon

Those are quite colorful! I’m getting ready to plant a new bed. I’ve been thinking of poppies and larkspur. But then, I may just go with something native, since we generally have a very wildlife-friendly yard.

Thank you. There must be lots of interesting and different plants in Australia to photo? Any cycling?
