It’s been a heck of a year in my personal wine calendar! First, I made it to membership of the Wine Century Club having tasted wines from 100+ different grapes. Then I converted our travel blog into one focusing exclusively on wine …. tasting, travels, philosophy. Third, I began my Wines 101 Bucket List and travelled to Chablis and then Alsace seeking out two particularly difficult to source Grand Cru Wines. And now ………. this!

“The People’s Choice Wine Awards is a wine challenge for supermarkets, importers, producers and retailers. The ethos behind the PCWA is simple – giving the consumer the opportunity to vote for the wines they love means that they are at the heart of the process, rather than being disengaged from it. The terminology and categories have been made easy to understand and meaningful to the average wine drinker. This helps them make better buying decisions and helps retailers understand what their customer wants. The judges are a mixture of professional wine tasters, industry professionals and experienced amateurs”
So, I applied to be a judge and bingo, I was selected for the PCWA challenge to be held in Manchester, UK, on October 1st. Now I have a head full of questions …….. More updates when I know more.

Congratulations. I’m sure most deserved.
