Painting masterpieces with wine!

Really! This is not wine tasting while you paint, but an artist who actually uses wine as his paint! The artist is Edgar Lizarazu Shiosaky

“The study of grape varieties and the resulting different shades ensure endless results”.

“Merlot, Cabernet, Shiraz and Malbec produce deep purple tones, while burnt orange hues are extracted from Tempranillo and Sangiovese. A Cabernet from France will shimmer so differently to a Cabernet from Chile that it is impossible to discern the same grape variety has been used.”

I’ve highlighted a sample of his works here, and you can read more about how he obtains different pigments from different grapes from this article, Masterpieces with Wine

  2. An interesting alternative. If he used a carton of Don Simon he could use the sediment to add more texture.
