The visit to Yosemite on our Trans USA Rail holiday last year was one of the highlights of the trip. I remember the guide telling us about the three different types of Redwood or Sequoia but have no idea which one this close up photo highlights! The bark looks like a satellite image of a landscape, earthly or otherwise!
