Budapest, a Christmas fusion lunch.

Over the past 5 years we have had extremely varied lunches to celebrate Christmas. A Spanish menu on the beach on Lanzarote, a seafood extravaganza in central Brussels, roast mountain goat in Southern Spain, and now an Asian fusion buffet in Budapest. Bizarre!

The Buddha Bar hotel in Budapest offers a Christmas day brunch, all you can eat, all you can drink for about £35, and to wine buff foodies like ourselves ….. a bargain.

From a wine perspective, Prosecco Rose was followed by Hungarian Sparkling Brut Reserve, then Furmint and Harslevelu based wines  and finally a Kekfrancos based wine. All outstanding. As we stood at the table choosing our bottles we found ourselves in conversation with a US military man, a Blackhawk helicopter pilot. Very interesting!
