Postcard from England: #4 Dungeness

The Two Doctors On Tour

 The South Coast of England-Dungeness

The first day of our Tour’s second geographical area of England along the South Coast across Sussex and Kent up towards Greenwich.
Dungeness is not only a Site of Special Scientific Interest, according to the UK Met Office it is also recognised as a desert, how bizarre is that? Flat as a pancake, shingle for miles, nuclear power stations, abandoned huts, boats and railway lines, all under the most amazing light and jutting out into the English Channel towards Europe. Painters and photographers love this place, as do twitchers, bikers, cyclists and afficionados of good old English grub, especially Fish n Chips with not a pizza, croissant or panini in sight at the Pilot Inn thank goodness! 1. We loved Dungeness – the habitat – the architecture – the lighthouse of course and we felt quite at home alongside the nuclear power station …
Your English tour is great. Best wishes to you both. XX

  2. The little gallery of photos looks very professional- looks like the cover for a guide book. Singleness is such an unfortunate name- very dour.
